Atlanta, Georgia Aug 7, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The lawsuit alleged that the store negligently sold alcohol to an underage individual without checking his id, contributing directly to a fatal car crash that claimed the life of one of his passengers shortly after the illegal purchase.
In working to provide proof of the illegal sale after the stores video surveillance system deleted the relevant video, Schneider Injury Law launched an aggressive investigation into how the purchase was made. In the new age of cashless payments, identifying the account that made the transaction was much more complicated. Schneider Injury Law subpoenaed Cash App but found no records. Eventually, Schneider Injury Law discovered the payment was made through a Bank of America debit card via Apple Pay. Surprisingly, even to Schneider Injury Law, the Apple Pay account number, expiration date and security code are all different from the same accounts debit card. The only way to find that information to match up with the stores transaction history was to go through multiple levels at BOA to finally have them send the card details to the cardholder, the surviving passenger, who had lent his card to the driver to use to purchase the alcohol. This evidence directly refuted the stores employees testimony that it was impossible for the minor to have purchased liquor from the store. Confronted with this evidence, the liquor store did the right and responsible thing of tendering its insurance policy limits of $1 million.
Schneider Injury Law is happy the family of the deceased victim and the surviving passenger received the justice they deservedand accountability from the liable party. If you or your family member has been hurt or killed in a collision, contact Schneider Injury Law to fight for you and achieve justice for you, just like they did in this case.
