1-Material Launches Production of High-Performance Polymer Polybenzimidazole in Response to Industry Shortage

Dorval, Quebec Jul 9, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - In response to growing demand and limited market supply, 1-Material has announced the launch of its in-house production of Polybenzimidazole (PBI), one of the most heat- and chemically-resistant engineering polymers available today.

The development of Polybenzimidazole was a direct response to a customer request, said Steven Xiao, head scientist at 1-Material. Another major supplier had discontinued the material, and our clients needed a reliable alternative.
